He has completed training in the Soul Care Institute and is a licensed Enneagram coach.

He also loves helping others discover and own the gifts God has cultivated in them through their story, so they can move forward with a sense of confidence and purpose in who God made them to be, for His glory and the good of others.

Coach

Tena DeVaney

Several years ago, Tena experienced significant heartache in her marriage as well as poor health and low functionality. As a result, she is very familiar with the difficulty of life. Through the work of exploring her story, Tena came to realize she lived most of her life from a posture of self-sufficiency. Tin Man Ministries has played an integral part in helping her connect her heart and mind, as well as bringing healing to her marriage.

Through coaching, Tena offers to be with women in their pain so they are not alone, and she finds joy in connecting to them through their stories. In addition, she and her husband (Todd, who’s a coach) offer healing to couples looking for help.

Tena has successfully completed The Allender Center Story Sage Courses.

Tena loves puzzles, podcasts, cooking, and heart-warming movies, especially when experienced with family and friends. She and Todd live in South Carolina and are the parents of a teenager and two young adults.

Spiritual Direction Coach

Chuck Gschwend

Chuck’s longing is to be an encouraging Barnabas-like spiritual father for church and marketplace leaders who desire to be marked by the grace and power of Jesus.

He carries this out by co-leading the Soma South region, leading Saturate Coaching Cohorts, one-on-one mentoring, and more recently, founding Renewal Coaching, offering a guided course through the spirituality of Richard F. Lovelace with spiritual direction and coaching from Chuck in the posture of a spiritual father.

Chuck has pastored, planted churches, served as an elder, and is also a practicing, litigating attorney. He lives in Arkansas with his wife, Lindy, where they raised three children.

Coach

Maria Hart

Maria is driven by a deep passion to walk alongside women on their journey through life’s most challenging circumstances. Growing up in a broken family where drugs and abuse were normal occurrences, Maria developed unhealthy coping mechanisms. By learning the gift of the feelings and truly embracing her need for God and others, she learned how to live right sized. Her mission is to empower individuals to embrace their truth, find liberation in Christ, and embark on a path to renewed living.

A graduate of Clarks Summit University with a bachelor’s degree in Counseling and Bible studies, Maria now serves in women's ministry and her local church’s Recovery program. Through participation in recovery and walking through the 12 steps, Maria continues to learn how to address the harm that has been done to her and tell the truth about it, through surrender and honest confession. She also serves alongside her husband the Reengaged Ministry, fostering healthy marriages within their community.

Residing in Southwest Florida with her husband and 2 kids, Maria finds solace in beach outings, paddle boarding adventures, and nurturing her children though homeschooling.

Coach

Jordan Leffel

Jordan’s coaching is influenced by his personal healing from trauma and the freedom that comes from safe relationships. After years of living under the weight of his secrets, Jordan reached a breaking point and his loneliness forced him to reach out for help. Real healing came when Jordan began to pursue recovery as he faced his own story of shame, isolation, and addiction.

Jordan has a masters in counseling. And before joining the Tin Man team, Jordan completed a 2-year pastoral residency where he served as a leader in counseling and recovery ministries.

Jordan lives in Nashville and enjoys CrossFit, country music, and connecting with friends.

Coach

Megan Overmyer

Megan became involved in the world of recovery 12 years ago after her husband sought help for his addiction. Through the journey with her husband, the Lord opened her eyes to issues she needed to face in her own life. With the help of God and others, Megan found progressive freedom over compulsive behaviors and lie-based beliefs that contributed to unhealthy choices.

Fueled by the growth in her own life, Megan started helping other women find the same freedom in their own lives. She helped start the Recovery program at her church 10 years ago, utilizing tools like The Voice of the Heart Bible Study authored by Jeff Schulte and Phil Herndon, a Bible Study/workbook that guides participants through a Biblically based journey from their head to their heart.

Megan walks those she guides into a deeper walk of faith, especially when life does not offer us the answers we want or think we need. We were not made to walk alone, and the real change we desire only happens in the context of intimate/vulnerable relationships. From the years of working in the recovery community, Megan is passionate about helping women find freedom through faith from their hurts, habits, and hang-ups.

Megan, a widow after 21 years of marriage, lives with her four sons in Southwest Florida. They enjoy being together as a family and long walks on the beach.

Coach

Anthony Pierce

Anthony has a passion and understanding for those that are willing to ask for help and desire the freedom that God longs for His children to have. He believes that God truly heals hearts and sanctifies men through the Biblical discipleship process of iron sharpening iron. His heart’s desire is to see men live well into the roles and responsibilities that God has called them to.

In 2008, through his own brokenness, hiding, codependency, and unhealthy relationships, Anthony realized his life had become unmanageable. He first turned to the secular world of self-help, but through a series of divine providences, God began to bring healthy men from local churches into his life who invited him into Recovery and helped Anthony see himself rightly. Through Recovery, Anthony was led into a loving relationship with Jesus Christ in 2010.

In 2012, Anthony’s recovery journey led him to Nashville, Tennessee, where he had the fortune of sitting under the care of Chip Dodd and Phil Herndon. Through this transformative experience, Anthony is a living testimony to the power of the Gospel, the Spiritual Root System and the 12 Steps.

Anthony lives in Fort Myers, Florida with his wife Stephanie and their three children. A retired classroom teacher of 17 years, he and Stephanie have grown a successful resale business over the past eight years which allows them the freedom to enjoy and pursue family adventures locally and across the country. Anthony is an avid Philadelphia sports fan and music connoisseur.

Coach

Ben Springer

Ben started his journey of recovery from anxiety, depression and self-worth over 15 years ago. At a very early age Ben learned to hide his pain and loss by doing whatever he could to distance himself from his heart. He sought the help needed in his story from gifted men that have gone before him in recovery and healing. This lit a flame in Ben to never stop working on his story and being in other men’s lives to help them seek freedom and restoration.

He was raised in the mountains of Oregon and Alaska which lead to a sense of adventure, and he is a constant “seeker of peace”. For the past 7 years Ben worked as the director of men’s ministry for his local church in Ft Collins, CO before joining Tin Man Ministries. He has an unfailing love of people and seeing the true heart of men despite their circumstances.

Ben lives in Ft Collins with his wife, Sarah of 19 years, and two sons: Sam (16) and Andrew (14) and 2 crazy German Shorthair puppies. You can find Ben watching his sons’ sports, hiking, fly fishing, snowboarding, and finding peaceful moments in the every day of life.

Coach

Matt Thomas

Before understanding the gospel himself, Matt defined his life by striving, working to find value, and longing to know he is someone who matters. Thankfully Jesus met him and helped him understand the grace of God. This grace awakened him to his heart and to living fully. Through counseling, Matt began to understand how our story and our feelings are fundamental to living the life God has made us to live.

Matt enjoys coaching men who are looking for encouragement and longing to discover what they were made to be and do. He has discipled adolescents and adults and loves to engage in significant conversations about life, God, and His scripture.

Matt was an Area Director with Young Life for 22 years and understands the demands and challenges of ministry. The loneliness, and effort of ministry has forced him to reach out for connection and cling to Jesus with his whole heart.

Matt loves adventure and outdoors, sports, moving water of all kinds, house projects, reading fiction, and time with friends and family. His wife of 20 years, Randi Lea, and their three kids live a full life in Murfreesboro, TN.

Coach

Sarah Vint

Sarah’s passion is to guide women on the journey of emotional and spiritual health while they navigate the difficulties of life. Her goal is to help others tell the truth about their stories so they can step into more with God. While in college, Sarah came face to face with her pain from youth and with help, recovered from an eating disorder. It was then that God gave her a passion to help others grow healthy both spiritually and emotionally.

Sarah received a bachelor’s degree in education from Iowa State University where she worked in college ministry and met her husband, Joel. For 8 years, Sarah’s focus shifted to being a mother to their young children and wife to her pastor-husband as they moved to different cities to help plant and serve churches. Amidst painful ministry circumstances and postpartum struggles, Tin Man was recommended to them. From that, Sarah experienced firsthand the impact of being coached through Tin Man. That now propels her to coach others.

Sarah can be found decorating her home, enjoying the beaches of sunny Florida, or having a dance party in the kitchen with her husband, Joel and their three children, Kella, Judson, and Karis.

Todd has served as a local church pastor for over 15 years, and currently is the Senior Pastor at Powell’s Chapel Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN. In addition to being a pastor, Todd has worked for six years logging thousands of hours doing individual, marital, and experiential therapy at the Center for Professional Excellence, a treatment center for men struggling with addiction and mental issues that prevent them from living fully.

Todd has a passion to help pastors discover how God uniquely created them to serve the body of Christ and to help men work through the “stuff of life” holding them back. He is uniquely gifted at discipling men through their stories of brokenness and helping them experience healing in areas of their lives they never thought possible.

Todd has been married to Jennifer of 10 years and they have 2 beautiful children, Tennysen and Cedar.

Coach

Carla Babb

Carla has served as Executive Director of Cypress Counseling Group in Brentwood, TN since 2011 where she provides therapy to couples and individuals longing for more intimacy in their life with themselves and with others. She recently joined Tin Man to offer Intensives for Women who could benefit from really knowing how their story impacts their present. Carla believes that intensive daylong work--doing a deep dive into the themes and tapes that play in our heads and impact the way we move through our life-- can be the most impactful and meaningful steps we can take in our personal healing. She helps people rewrite whatever parts of their narrative aren’t working for them in order to begin to tell the story with their life they were meant to tell.

Carla attended James Madison University and received her MA and EdS in Community Counseling. She and her husband, Paul, have their own story of learning how to be a couple, struggling as new parents of two children, feeling distance in their relationship and almost separating. Carla knows personally the pain of growing up with divorced parents, the impact of childhood trauma, the struggle of fitting in, the pain of living with someone with addiction, and the weight of having a parent with a life-threatening illness. And through all this life that showed up, she also knows the beauty of recovery, the sweetness in the moments we pay attention to more closely, the joy in pursuing relationship with intention, and the power of gratitude and mindfulness.

Coach

Jamin Carter

Jamin is a pastor, educator, and artist living in Memphis. Always interested in more than one thing at a time, he has spent the past 14 years working bi-vocationally in ministry and education. As a pastor his passions include community, vision, and ministry to the poor. In educational consulting, Jamin leads students and educators across the country through dynamic behavioral work that teaches skills of self-regulation in social and cooperative learning environments.

Discovering his inner life increasingly out of control, Jamin looked for a new path, one of surrender and finding his heart. Walking alongside other leaders on this journey is where he finds great passion to be a guide with Tin Man.

Jamin has a masters in education and a bachelors of fine art. He lives with his wife Becky, son Benjamin, and daughter Malea. They love being disconnected from technology, taking walks, and gardening.

Coach

Todd DeVaney

After two decades of ministry, Todd came to a crossroads where he faced the haunting reality that his double life had been exposed. His addictive behavior, secrets, and hiding had left his life, career, and family in tatters. There was no connection between his heart and his life, and the lonely emptiness of not being known by anyone in the world had broken him.

It was through working with Tin Man and his church, as well as the love and support of his friends, that helped Todd rediscover his heart and find intimacy with God and others. Now, Todd’s passion is to help men find their hearts and be known.

Todd lives in Greenville, South Carolina, with his wife Tena. They have three children. Todd enjoys cooking, coffee, sports, podcasts and finding ways to connect with his family and friends.

Coach

Bryce Harcey

For as long as Bryce knew, the best way to relate to people and be loved was through achievement and performance. But the more he accomplished and the more leadership responsibilities he took on, the more disconnected from God, his own heart, and others he felt. “Bottoming out” in despair and in the loneliness of leadership, Bryce reached out to Tin Man Ministries for help. Bryce began the courageous journey of facing the pain, shame, anxiety, addiction, and codependency of his past with honesty and humility.

Bryce is now using his story and his 20 years of experience in leadership, pastoral, military, and discipleship contexts to help others live fully and lead well. Bryce supports men on the journey of trusting the Lord with ALL their hearts (Proverbs 3:5-6) and embracing their passion and calling.

Bryce is from Minnesota and lives in Tennessee. He has been married to his wife, Gina, since 2004. They have 3 sons, Stanley, Timothy and Henry. They enjoy spending time at the lake, playing pickleball, and throwing barbecues in the backyard with friends and family.

Coach

Chris Jackson

Chris’ goal is to help men discover their heart and release them to live life with a purpose.

Coming from a legalistic environment, Chris enjoys helping people find freedom and enjoy their identity and calling.

Having experienced a crushing divorce that "broke him in deep places," Chris finds success working with hurting people trying to recover from divorce.

Chris has a Coaching Certificate with the International Board of Christian Care, owns an insurance agency, and is an avid outdoorsman. In addition to coaching men one-on-one, Chris is the co-founder of Iron Works, a men’s ministry focused upon connecting men with the gospel. He and his wife, Shannon, have a blended family of 6 kids and they love to road trip and chase adventures all over the country.

Coach

Evan Lemkuil

Evan came on staff full-time with Tin Man after a decade in local church ministry. He has a passion for helping people discover the goodness of God in a broken world through the vulnerability of relationship. He is inspired by any person who is willing to admit that life has gotten to them, and is courageous enough to do the work of talking about it. During Evan’s time in the local church, he led Recovery Ministries, pastored churches, wrote and taught, and counseled a diverse community toward a healthier (Emotional, Spiritual, Physical) life with God, others and self.

Evan’s conviction comes from being rescued from his own addictions and compulsive behaviors by the love of God and others. Through that process (which is ongoing!), he has developed a strong belief that if healing, restoration, and hope are possible for him, then it's possible for anyone!

Through a relational and story-based approach, Evan utilizes the processes of 12-Step Recovery and the Spiritual Root System to connect with and help clients recover the heart and life God intends for them.

Evan and his wife Amanda have been married since 2013 and love the life they have together. Their son, Sage, is a constant reminder of God’s grace and love, and reminds them daily to enjoy the fullness of life!

Coach

Amy Peters

Amy is a passionate member of the Tin Man team. She is a Certified Professional Recovery Coach who offers coaching to women and couples along with her husband Joel. After graduating high school, she completed two years of training through 24-7 Leadership Academy. When Amy married Joel, her focus changed to becoming a wife and mother for the next eight years. During that time she created and led Beloved, a women’s ministry focusing on heart and body health. This led her back to school where she recently completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Ministry Leadership.

With a deep heart for women’s ministry, Amy’s personal journey has sparked her passion for Tin Man Ministries. Through painful circumstances in her own life, Amy was introduced to Voice of the Heart. As she continues to walk through and live out her own healing and recovery, she desires to walk with other women as they do the same.

When Amy is not meeting with other women, she is a full-time homemaker, wife of Joel, and mother of Elizabeth and Jeriah. As a family, they especially enjoy camping and exploring the outdoors.

Coach

Pat Puglisi

After 25 years of chasing after achievement, control, and false success in ministry and in life, Pat knew he needed more. Full of fear, loneliness, depression, compulsive thinking, and behaviors, Pat reached out to Tin Man Ministries. It was there where God began an amazing journey of healing, purpose, and hope.

Out of his own journey into the deep layers of shame, insecurity, codependency, and brokenness, Pat leads his clients into the next steps toward fullness. He is passionate about walking with others into a life of restoring the heart and living in emotional health and sobriety.

Some of the things that have shaped Pat’s ability to connect with those needing guidance in recovery is his partnership with a local residential drug and alcohol recovery home, serving as a law enforcement chaplain, and guiding others as a Certified Recovery Specialist in the state of Indiana.

In his free time, Pat loves to spend time with his family, taking a long run or road bike, or lacing up the skates and officiating high school and college hockey. Pat lives in Plymouth, Indiana with his wife Josie and together they have three adult children.

Coach

Kimberly Waldron

The power of presence. The beauty of story. And the gracious gift of truth. These are among the most formative features of Kimberly’s journey of faith. Like everyone, she has followed a path full of twists and turns, rocky terrain and green pastures, but never alone.

From her earliest days of following Christ, Kimberly had women guiding her who also encouraged her to do the same with others. Wisdom became a treasure to be gained and given away in a context of trusted relationships. Whether on a college campus, in a corporate office, among seminary couples, or alongside her husband in pastoral ministry, walking with women as a follower and as a coach has been a way of life and deep passion. She resonates with the challenges and opportunities inherent in the ever-changing seasons of life.

Kimberly offers experienced coaching to women in the throes of marital strain, spousal addiction, parental challenges, health issues, loss and spiritual weariness with grace and truth. She is passionate about helping women discover their unique strategies for coping with brokenness, within and without, by thinking deeply about their Story. Telling the truth about our story, exploring the“Voice of the Heart” and discovering the Love of God in the pages of Scripture, grant each of us the unique opportunity to experience growth, healing and rest for the soul.

Art and music, being in God’s creation, hiking, and spending time with her husband, 4 adult children, their spouses and her grandchildren are a sampling of Kimberly’s favorite things.

Coach

Ben Harris

After 15 years of chasing success, influence, and fulfillment in full-time ministry as a worship pastor and creative director for a multisite megachurch, Ben ran into a wall of burnout with vocational ministry. Rather than trying to power through by sheer force of will or giving up altogether, Ben sought counseling from Tinman to further discover the parts of his story that were holding him back and keeping him in addiction.

Through counseling and 12-step programs, Ben identified and addressed the parts of his past that were destroying his present and experienced the freedom of living an authentic life in community. Ben is driven to pass on what he’s found by helping others rediscover their own hearts through their unique stories.

In addition to his work with Tin Man, Ben works as a songwriter and producer. Ben and his wife Kim live south of Nashville with their two children. Outside work, Ben loves flying planes, making pizza, and nerding out about all things space.

Coach

Joel Peters

Joel worked as a professional in the field of engineering for over 13 years. He has a Master’s certificate from Multnomah Seminary and a Bachelor of Science degree from LeTourneau University and most recently has become a Certified Professional Recovery Coach. Today, Joel is passionate to help other men recover the life they’ve lost and the life God desires for them, by learning to live from the heart. Joel and his wife, Amy, moved to Nashville in 2016 to work with Tin Man. They have visited over 22 national parks, sharing their love of adventure and exploring new places. Coach

Roy Roper

Roy Roper is a NARM-informed professional Tin Man coach. His passion is to foster freedom from addiction, compulsion, and codependency—transforming toxic cycles of shame & fear into full-hearted living—and helping individuals & relationships heal through grace-saturated connection with their own stories, feelings, and secure attachments.

Roy Roper, a husband and father of four, graduated with a BFA from WashU, and started wideyedesign a decade into his 30-year career as a graphic designer. When he finally hit a wall in his efforts to keep life and marriage working, he started a journey into multiple 12-step recovery programs (SA, Al-Anon, & ACA in particular) that not only saved their marriage, but led to a spiritual renewal well beyond mere sobriety.

Through his healing journey, Roy continued to integrate recovery principles and emotional connectedness with his church community. Early into serving as an elder in his church, he helped establish a recovery ministry at his church in Nashville, where he has both led groups and written curriculum. He then began doing premarital counseling as a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator, and now feels at home with Tin Man, working as a professional recovery and relationship coach (in conjunction with Nashville’s Center for Relational Healing).

Coach

Chris Teague

Chris was an expert at hiding and has graduate degrees in shame and loneliness. Now, his deepest passion is to be a lighthouse for men and couples lost in those same dark seas and a safe house for anyone who longs to be seen and understood just as they are.

Growing up in the church as a worship leader and marrying his high school sweetheart, Chris learned how to say the right things and make people like him. In college, he quietly and shamefully deconstructed his entire belief system, leading to a secret life of drugs and alcohol that ultimately led to him divorcing his wife.

However, his life of freedom ended up enslaving him. He realized the hard way that manufacturing happiness and living a dream life still weren’t enough. Codependency and isolation finally caught up to him. This dark night of the soul brought him to a radical encounter with God that changed everything. It started Chris on a path to healing that led to the restoration of his life, faith, and (eventually) his marriage.

Today, he and his wife share a full-time music ministry of hope traveling the country, telling their story and sharing the music and wisdom that comes from their ever-unfolding journey of redemption. For Chris, Tin Man is simply an extension and a deeper commitment to what he has been doing in ministry for the last 10 years. His story of recovery and his ministry experience are the deep well Chris draws from to guide clients out of brokenness and detachment toward a life of connection, authenticity, and restoration.

If he’s not coaching or on tour, you’ll usually find Chris at home with his kids, Asher and Norah, or on a date night with Steph (whom he affectionately calls his “former ex-wife”). He loves making coffee in every way possible, playing chess badly, and wrestling with his puppy, Rosie.

Miriam Walsh

Miriam has been pouring into the hearts of women for the past twenty-plus years with the love the Creator-Redeemer God has lavished upon her. She has personally walked through depression, chronic illness (hers, her husband’s and their son’s), navigating change, leadership challenges, and suffering.

A gospel-centered worldview changes everything. Miriam has walked with women through the breadth of life’s diverse realities, particularly surrounding issues related to leadership, spiritual intimacy with God, and developing a thought life that reflects good theology. Above all, Miriam’s deepest desire is for every woman to understand our Triune God’s great, great love for her and help her have an authentic relationship with Him. No matter how things appear, God is ultimately up to something beautiful! Miriam would love to walk with you and discover what that is together.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Miriam resides in Middle Tennessee with her husband of over 30 years. They have two grown sons. With degrees in Psychology and English, Miriam has years of teaching and leadership with women in her local church and the parachurch setting.
