Emotions Unveiled
For so many of us, the Christian life is an exercise in “doing.” Because we are often encouraged to hide our emotions, to suppress “negative” emotions, and refrain from expressing thoughts in emotional ways, what we call “being in a relationship with God” can feel dry and devoid of life. We’re attempting to do relationships with veiled hearts. We live in our heads, busily managing people and situations, cut off from the part of us God made with the purpose of attaching to Him and to one another.
We wrote Emotions Unveiled: Exploring the Depths of the Heart in Scripture to encourage your intimacy with God and with those who matter to you. As your heart moves through this study, there will be a direct correlation between your willingness to wrestle with your own humanity and the emotional experience of your own story. Your capacity for intimacy with yourself, with others and with God will grow through the process. We know this because you were made for this.
